Planetary meanings
as exponents of the Earth

Our inner experience
The formation of shells, brought about by the planetary orbits, also occurs around ourselves in an analogous way. We experience this layered field of forces as the feelings and thoughts inside us.
Thus we see emerging a view of astrology in which planetary meanings are correlated by analogy to the forces in our own subtler bodies. By contemplating our inner world, we become aware of those meanings. Inside ourselves, we are already familiar with them. These meanings are not demonstrable; in that sense, they remain subjective. However, by means of analogous thinking, they can be objectified through astrology.
Mirroring
In this approach of planetary meanings, the planets are mirrored in the position of the Earth, as it were. The core meanings of Saturn and Sun are each other’s opposites: shrinking versus radiation, cold versus warmth, fear versus courage, etcetera. The polar contrast between the ancient planets on the one hand and the mystery and hypothetical planets on the other (18.6.a), is also brought about by mirroring.
Faithful mirroring requires a good mirror surface. This is provided by the border guardians Moon and Saturn.
In the structure of the Subject, which will be discussed later, these mirror surfaces play a key role.
Professionality
So we may now just as well abandon the whole idea that planetary meanings are derived from the observations of our predecessors throughout the ages, and begin to recognize that these meanings are actually present within ourselves.
For the practising of our profession, it now becomes imperative to clear out our own frame of reference. The clearer our understanding of the functioning of our own soul forces, the better we can put our own frame of reference at the service of our astrological craft.
This will lead us to undergo our own process of objectification, with astrology serving as our mirror. Using the senses of our own souls, this process will enable us as astrologers to become ever better servants of objectivity.
I believe that many astrologers will confirm this.
